Another pair of eyes ...

Your project might be a book, a business document, an academic study* or a website. Whichever it is, it can be very difficult to 'step back' and notice errors or inconsistencies when you have been so involved in writing it.

As a proofreader, I can help to give your work the final polish that it deserves by checking:
  • that conventions of English spelling, punctuation and grammar are followed
  • footnotes, endnotes, page numbers, headers and footers for consistency and order
  • grammar, spelling and punctuation of any text in, under or above tables and illustrations.

Using my skills in copy-editing and research, I can also:
  • shorten long sentences and edit long paragraphs, without altering their intended meaning
  • make suggestions for enhancing the clarity and flow of the text
  • check facts/ensure accuracy.

*Please note that when undertaking proofreading for assessed essays/dissertations/theses, I will not be able to make substantial changes to your work ... but I can still assist in other ways: click below for a list of academic terms and conditions which will show you how I can (and can't) help.
